R905.4.6

Section R905.4.6 is titled 'Flashing' and covers requirements for roof coverings. The requirement for flashing of a specific material, or which conforms with a cross-referenced section of this code, at valleys of metal shingle roof coverings, as well as flashing construction and installation details, dependent on climate and slope is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent water damage to the building.

The model shows a piece of valley flashing with a 3/4" diverter rib.
