R804.3

Section R804.3 is titled 'Roof construction' and covers requirements for roof-ceiling construction. The requirement for cold-formed steel roof systems which are constructed in accordance with this section, to consist of ceiling joists and rafters built and fastened in accordance with a figure and table in this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.

The model resembles the cross-referenced figure with highlighted rafter brace members which are coped to allow them to stay in plane with the ceiling joist and be able to be connected to the ceiling joist without using special connectors.
