R804.2.5

Section R804.2.5 is titled 'Fastening' and covers requirements for roof-ceiling construction. The requirement for screws to be a minimum distance from member edges dependent on application, minimally spaced from other screws, minimally sized, self-drilling tapping type, in conformance with standards dependent on application, a specific head type dependent on application, and to penetrate a minimum number of threads as well as be protected from corrosion by a coating or by being made from certain materials is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
