R802.4.4

Section R802.4.4 is titled 'Rafter supports' and covers requirements for roof-ceiling construction. The requirement for roofs with a pitch less than a certain ratio to have framing members which support the rafters to be designed as beams, and for rafter bearing to be in accordance with another section of this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
