Section 609.8.1 is titled 'Load transfer' and covers requirements for exterior windows and doors. The requirement for mullions to be designed to carry and transfer design pressure loads from a window or door assembly to the main force resisting system is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent detachment of window and door assemblies from the building.
