R609.7.1

Section 609.7.1 is titled 'Anchoring requirements' and covers requirements for exterior windows and doors. The requirement to anchor windows and glass door assemblies in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions, and where an alternate anchoring method is used, that it shall achieve equal or greater anchoring performance as that required by the manufacturer is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent detachment of windows and glass door assemblies from the building.
