R608.4.2

Section R608.4.2 is titled 'Interior covering' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for stay-in-place forms of rigid foam plastic for concrete exterior walls to be protected in accordance with other sections of this code, where protected by gypsum board for mechanical fastening to be used, and allowance for adhesives to supplement the mechanical fastening of gypsum board is established. The purpose of this section is to slow the spread of fire and limit the amount of smoke if it were to catch on fire.
