R606.3.5.3

Section R606.3.5.3 is titled 'Construction' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for masonry walls which are grouted to maintain clear space for grouted cells, vertical reinforcement to be supported at certain locations, cells which contain reinforcement to be fully grouted, and for grout or mortar between masonry and reinforcement to be a minimum thickness is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
