R606.12.3

Section R606.12.3 is titled 'Seismic design category D₀ or D₁' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for masonry walls in certain seismic zones to conform with another section of this code and this section's subsections, as well as the disallowance for the use of AAC masonry in elements that are part of the lateral force-resisting system in certain seismic zones is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
