R602.7.5

Section R602.7.5 is titled 'Supports for headers' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement to support headers with a minimum number of jack studs as required by one of two tables in this code, for the king studs to be nailed to the header with a minimum number of specific fasteners, and for there to be a minimum number of king studs in accordance with a table in this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
