R602.7.4

Section R602.7.4 is titled 'Nonbearing walls' and covers requirements for wall construction. The allowance for headers in nonbearing walls to also be nonbearing, allowed framing arrangement and width dependent on vertical distance to parallel member, and clarification that cripples or blocking are not required is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent framing failure.
