Section R602.10.6.3 is titled 'Method PFG: Portal frame at garage door openings in seismic design categories A, B and C' and covers requirements for wall construction. The allowance to construct method PFG braced wall panels in accordance with a figure in this code, where supporting only a roof or roof and one story, limited to seismic design categories A, B, and C, and clarification that it may be on either side of the door opening is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
