R602.10.2

Section R602.10.2 is titled 'Braced wall panels' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for braced wall panels to be full-height wall sections without offsets, and to be constructed in acccordance with this section's subsections and another section of this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.

The model shows two braced wall panel examples - the 1st is wood let-in-bracing (LIB); the 2nd is wood structural panel (WSP). It is worth noting here that per another section of this code, a wall covering may be required on the opposite side of the bracing in order for this assembly to be considered a braced wall panel (not shown for clarity).
