Section R505.3.3.2 is titled 'Joist bottom flange bracing/blocking' and covers requirements for floor construction. The requirement for cold-formed steel floor joists which exceed a certain span to be braced in accordance with one of two methods listed in this section is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
