R406.4

Section R406.4 is titled 'Precast concrete foundation system dampproofing' and covers requirements for foundation waterproofing and dampproofing. The requirement to waterproof if required by another section of this code, or to otherwise dampproof precast concrete foundation walls which enclose habitable or usable spaces located below grade is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent water from entering the building through the foundation.
