R406.3.3

Section R406.3.3 is titled 'Porous fill' and covers requirements for foundation dampproofing. For wood foundations, the requirement for backfill of a minimum height, dependent on the site's drainage ability, to be the same material used for the footings, and for that fill to be covered with a certain paper or plastic is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent water from entering the building through the foundation.
