R404.1.9

Section R404.1.9 is titled 'Isolated masonry piers' and covers requirements for foundation construction. The requirement to follow this section and another section of this code, for a maximum thickness to height ratio dependent on how the pier is constructed, and for footings to be built in accordance with another section of this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
