R403.1.7.4

Section R403.1.7.4 is titled 'Alternate setbacks and clearances' and covers requirements for buildings or structures on or adjacent to slopes steeper than 33.3%. The allowance for engineered plans which do not conform with prescriptive sections of this code which cover buildings and structures on or adjacent to slopes steeper than 33.3%, subject to approval by the building official is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
