R403.1.3.4

Section R403.1.3.4 is titled 'Interior bearing and braced wall panel footings in Seismic Design Categories D₀, D₁, and D₂' and covers the requirements for interior wall footings which are cast monolithically with the slab. The depth which the footing must be below the top of the slab is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.

The model shows a section of an interior footing cast monolithically with the slab and the minimum depth dimension noted. The bearing or braced wall which will sit on the slab and run parallel with the footing is not shown for clarity.
