R401.4.2

Section R401.4.2 is titled 'Compressible or shifting soil' and covers requirements for soils which support foundations. The allowance to remove or stablize compressible or shifting soils in lieu of a complete geotechnical evaluation is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
