R327.2 Exception 1

Section R327.2 is titled 'Equipment listings' and covers the requirements for stationary storage battery systems being listed and label in accordance with a standard. This section has 3 exceptions, the first allowing for unlisted battery systems from electric vehicles (when approved by the Building Official). The location where such systems may be installed is established. The purpose of this exception is to allow for the use of unlisted battery systems and to slow the spread of fire.

The model shows a property with a dwelling and a detached shed which contains an unlisted battery system. The restricted area from the property lines and the house are highlighted in separate colors. A third highlight color is used where these restricted areas are overlapping. The model presumes that measurements are taken perpendicular from the face of exterior walls.
