Section R322.1.7 is titled 'Protection of water supply and sanitary sewage systems' and covers requirements for flood-resistant construction. The requirement to design and install water supply and sanitary sewage systems so as to be minimally infiltrated by flood waters is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent contamination of water supply, and overwhelming of sanitary sewage systems due to flooding, which are constructed in areas prone to such.
