Section R322.1.5 is titled 'Lowest floor' and covers requirements for flood-resistant construction. The clarification of which floor of a building shall be considered the lowest for the purposes of application of this (main) section of the code is established. The purpose of this section is to limit damage and loss to buildings and structures due to flooding, which are constructed in areas prone to such.
