Section R315.4 is titled 'Combination alarms' and covers requirements for devices which detect and warn of carbon monoxide (CO) accumulation. The allowance for a single device which detects and alarms for both smoke and CO, in lieu of only CO is established. The purpose of this section is to clarify that combination devices are intended to be allowed.
