Section R315.2 is titled 'Where required' and covers requirements for devices that detect and warn of carbon monoxide (CO) accumulation. A cross-reference to subsections which cover technical details for where CO alarms are required is established. The purpose of this section is to require CO alarms be installed when dwelling units are originally constructed, added on to, altered, or repaired.
