Section R307.1 is titled 'Space Required' and covers access areas to bathroom fixtures. The section references a figure to diagrammatically show the required clearances, and also cross-references another section of the code for additional clearance requirements. Minimum clear space dimensions around the front, side, and inside of bathroom fixtures is established. The purpose of this section is for general well being and to prevent slip and fall hazards.
