M1305.1

Section M1305.1 is titled 'Appliance access for inspection service, repair and replacement' and covers the requirement for access to appliances without needing to remove permanent construction, such as walls, other appliances, and/or pipes and ducts connected to other appliances, as well as a 30" X 30" working clearance in front of the panel of the appliance. The purpose of this section is to promote proper servicing and maintenance of appliances as well as preventing excessive costs for replacement.

The model shows a section of a room with a furnace and water heater being installed. The water heater is slightly encroaching into the 30" X 30" working clearance space of the furnace and will need to be relocated.
