N1103.6.1

Section N1103.6.1 is titled 'Whole-house mechanical ventilation system fan efficacy' and covers requirements for energy efficiency. The requirement for whole-house mechanical ventilation fans to meet the efficacy requirements of a cross-referenced table in this code is established. The purpose of this section is to mandate requirements for mechanical ventilation energy efficiency. This section has an exception which exempts certain air handlers from needing to meet the requirements of the table where it is powered by specific means. The purpose of this exception is to allow for whole-house mechanical ventilation that also serves other purposes.
