N1103.1.1

Section N1103.1.1 is titled 'Programmable thermostat' and covers requirements for energy efficiency. The requirement for a thermostat controlling the primary heating and cooling system to be able to be programmed to automatically change the temperatures produced by the system in specified time and degree range increments, as well as for the thermostat to be manufactured with specific default settings is established. The purpose of this section is to mandate a thermostat that allows for improved energy efficiency gains.

The model shows a programmable thermostat cycling through temperatures (in degrees Farenheit) specified by this code section.
