Section R1004.5 is titled 'Gasketed fireplace doors' and covers requirements for factory-built fireplaces. The requirement for gasketed fireplace doors to be specifically tested, listed, and labeled in accordance with a standard, in order to be allowed for use with a factory-built fireplace is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent the building from catching fire and carbon monoxide poisoning.
