Section R1003.11.2 is titled 'Flue linings for specific appliances' and covers requirements for masonry chimneys. The requirement for flue linings for specific appliances not covered by a section of this code, to conform with other sections of this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent smoke from entering the structure and the structure from catching on fire.
