Chapter 24 Overview

Chapter 24 is titled 'Glass and Glazing' and covers the requirments for glass, light-transmitting ceramic, and light-transmitting plastics which are manufactured as thin panes and used for windows, skylights, or decorative purposes. Masonry blocks made from glass are covered by chapter 21. The purpose of this chapter is to establish minimum requirements for structural stability, protection from breaking glazing (typically from impact), protection from embedded wire exposed at edges, premature weathering, and labeling.

The model shows a breaking piece of glass which does not meet safety glazing requirments.
