Chapter 22 Overview

Chapter 22 is titled 'Steel', and covers the requirements for the use of steel in a variety of applications such as building structural members (e.g., beams, columns, or floor joists), component members (e.g., storage racking), or non-structural members (e.g., cold-formed steel partition framing). The purpose of this chapter is to require steel to meet minimum requirements to assure structural stability and performance expectations (such as welding or fastener retention strength).

The model shows a section of a structural assembly using steel elements.
